No. But participants must raise a minimum amount to qualify for award categories and finisher entitlements like medal, e-certificate and finisher t-shirt.

This is to encourage participants to garner donations and aim to raise $300 (for individuals), $600 (for family and friends) and $3,000 (for teams/corporations). By doing so, participants help to raise funds and awareness of the importance of palliative and hospice care.

Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to your profile page as shown in this line ‘View and share your profile page now’. Click on it, copy and share the link with your friends and supporters. They can donate through that link and the amount will be reflected on your profile page. When all the donations add up and meet the qualifying amount for your category, you are ready for the vertical challenge!

For team leader (i.e the person who created/started the team), you will also receive a ‘Team code’ in the email upon registration. This ‘Team Code’ is required by your team members to indicate which team they join when they register.

Your generous donations will go into meeting the needs of our beneficiaries and their families, and towards building up our capacity and capability.

  • $120 can help pay for one patient attending our day hospice
  • $300 can help pay for one home visit
  • $3,300 can cover home care visits for one patient for one year

Yes. You can donate via Cheque or PayNow.

  1. Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “HCA Hospice Care

    Please write your name, NRIC/FIN/UEN, mailing address and contact number on the reverse side of the cheque. Please also indicate “The Dandelion Events” and the name of participant you would like to show support to, if any.

    In the 'Reference' or 'Bill Reference' field, please type this code: TDE followed by donor's NRIC/FIN/UEN (e.g. TDE S1234567A).

    Once PayNow is completed, please email us at with the following information: your name, NRIC/FIN/UEN, contact number, the name of participant you support and your message to the participant, if any. We need the information to record your donation amount under the respective participant and to process your tax deduction. Thank you!

Yes, but those below 16 years old can only participate as part of a family or a team.

Registration is open till 31 December 2020. However, to be eligible for finisher entitlements and award categories, all participants must raise the minimum donation amount ($300 for individuals, $600 for family and friends and $3,000 for corporate or team) by 15 December 2020 and submit the results by 31 December 2020.

Your health and safety are of utmost concern. For participants in the challenge category you have the option to complete the distance over multiple days as long as they are completed between 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020.

For participants in the competitive category, you must complete your challenge in one session, however please be mindful of your own safety and physical condition. For those in groups, different members can complete their portion on different days BUT each member must complete their portion in a single session/attempt.

You can attempt the virtual challenge at the following venue(s), whichever is convenient: staircases at HDB blocks, condos, offices/ high-rise buildings and hills. Those who participate in greater elevation category may consider their attempt at tall building like SkyVille@Dawson, Bukit Timah Hill, etc where they can do loops to complete the distance in a single session.

Please observe social distancing and safety measures while attempting the challenge.

Participants of the competitive category must use devices with barometric sensor (for indoor tracking) or GPS-enabled fitness devices (for outdoors tracking) such as Garmin, Suunto or Polar that can accurately record elevation gain.

Once the participant has registered, qualified for the challenge and completed the distance with record on the chosen device, simply take a screenshot of the tracking app. The screenshot must clearly show date, elevation gain and time taken.

Participants of the challenge category are not required to use the above devices, however, they should still submit proof of their completion using any apps that can log elevation gain in order to receive the ‘Finisher’ entitlements.

All funds raised will be directed to HCA Hospice Care to support their home and day hospice services. No refund of donations will be made.

Once the screenshots are verified, the T-shirt, medal and e-certificate would be delivered to the registered address within two weeks upon the end of the event.
